Gather GVL celebrates six years of community, food and “Top 10 Food Hall” national recognition

Three-day anniversary lineup includes Gather’s Got Talent, Family Fun Day and an all-day party with live music

Gather GVL, Greenville’s community gathering place and open-air food hall in the West End, will celebrate its 6th anniversary with a weekend of events inviting the community to come together for live entertainment, family-friendly fun and an all-day celebration.

Since opening in February 2020, Gather GVL quickly became a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike, pairing a one-of-a-kind, outdoor courtyard setting with a curated mix of food and beverage concepts. Its open-air design also made it a natural place for the community to gather safely during the pandemic. Gather’s local success earned national acclaim, including being named a Top 10 Food Hall in America in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for three years in a row. Most recently, Gather welcomed its newest vendor, BBQ on the Ave, which has quickly earned rave reviews – approaching 200 five-star ratings on Google.

Created by a father-son team in Doug and Mack Cross, co-founders of Four Oaks Property Group, the Gather concept has been finetuned over the years and even expanded into new markets across the state. In December 2025, Gather MTP broke ground in Mount Pleasant, which is set to open in 2027. Two days later, Gather COLA opened in Columbia’s BullStreet District.

“Gather started with a vision to create a place where local food and beverage makers can experiment, and where families and friends can connect – a community ‘backyard hangout,’ if you will,” said Mack Cross, co-founder of Gather GVL and Four Oaks Property Group. “We’re proud to be celebrating six years with Greenville as we grow into new markets. We’re grateful to Greenville for showing up for this idea from the beginning, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”

6th Anniversary Weekend Events at Gather GVL
• Gather’s Got Talent: | Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6:00 p.m. | An evening spotlighting local performers and community talent
• Family Fun Day | Friday, Feb. 20 from 4:00-9:00 p.m. | An afternoon/evening of board games, lawn games on the turf and the reveal of Gather’s newly updated Kids Zone.
• Gather Turns 6 | Saturday, Feb. 21 | All-day anniversary party capped by live music from Randomonium (4:00–7:00 p.m.). $6 menu items will be served all day, including BBQ on the Ave’s pulled pork sandwich, Mercado tacos, YOLO fried Oreos, beer & frosé, and more.
