Georgetown County reminds residents of upcoming holiday closures

Georgetown County offices and most county-operated facilities will observe several closures during the upcoming holiday season. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for office visits, landfill trips, and recycling center drop-offs. Holiday closures are as follows:

Administrative Buildings and Offices

All Georgetown County administrative offices will be closed on the following dates:

• Thanksgiving:
  Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28.
• Christmas:
  Wednesday, Dec. 24–Friday, Dec. 26
• New Year’s Day:
  Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026

Landfill and Recycling Centers

The Georgetown County Landfill and all Recycling Convenience Center locations will follow the holiday schedule below:

• Thanksgiving – Thursday, Nov. 27
  All recycling and landfill facilities closed.
  All convenience centers will close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and return to normal operating hours for Friday.
• Christmas Eve – Wednesday, Dec. 24
  All centers close at 1 p.m.
• Christmas Day – Thursday, Dec. 25
  All recycling and landfill facilities closed. Centers will be open normal hours on Friday, Dec. 26
• New Year’s Day – Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026
  All recycling and landfill facilities closed.
