Georgetown gears up for the 13th Annual Bridge2Bridge Run
March 10, 2026The countdown is on for the 13th Annual Bridge2Bridge Run, happening Saturday, March 21, 2026, in historic Georgetown. Presented by Mark Nash State Farm, this iconic community tradition brings runners, walkers, families and supporters together to raise funds for Friendship Place, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Georgetown County.
With race day just two weeks away, participants are encouraged to secure their spot by registering at bridge2bridgerun.com. On-site registration will also be available on race day.
For more than 20 years, Friendship Place has been a steady source of hope and support for the Georgetown County community. The organization works to move neighbors from crisis to stability through programs that provide daily meals, prayer and spiritual encouragement, childhood literacy tutoring, teen engagement initiatives and innovative solutions designed to meet pressing needs in practical and sustainable ways.
This year’s event offers something for every level of runner, including a 5K, 12K and 13.1-mile half marathon, along with a free 1-mile Kids Fun Run for children ages 12 and under. After drawing more than 1,000 participants last year, the 2026 race is poised to welcome an even larger crowd of runners, walkers and spectators from across the region. New for 2026, professional pacers will be available to help participants reach their goals, and runners can celebrate their accomplishment at a VIP Post-Race Reception featuring light bites, live music and special guests.
“The Bridge2Bridge Run is more than a race for us. It is a celebration of what happens when a community chooses to show up for one another,” said Marie Livingston, Executive Director of Friendship Place. “The energy on race day directly fuels the work we do year-round, from providing daily meals and literacy support to walking alongside families in times of crisis. We could not do this without the incredible volunteers, runners and business partners who stand beside us. We are especially thankful for HTC and their leadership as an Elite Sponsor. Their investment in this event and in Friendship Place strengthens our ability to serve neighbors across Georgetown County.”
HTC, this year’s Elite Sponsor, has expressed excitement about partnering with and supporting the Bridge2Bridge Run. The cooperative values opportunities like this that strengthen community relationships while also spotlighting meaningful local causes. The designated charity, Friendship Place, closely aligns with HTC’s mission through its commitment to providing vital resources, including daily meals, housing and utility assistance, childhood literacy programs and spiritual support for parents and families.
“Events like the Bridge2Bridge Run truly represent what community connection looks like in action,” said Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “We’re excited to support an event that brings people together for a positive purpose while also partnering with The Friendship Place, whose work makes a real difference for families in Georgetown every single day. As a cooperative, giving back to the communities we serve isn’t just something we do, it’s who we are.”
Volunteers are vital to the Bridge2Bridge Run’s success, and the race committee welcomes individuals and groups to contribute their time and enthusiasm. Opportunities include pre-race registration assistance, course setup and various race-day tasks. Those interested in volunteering can sign up at bridge2bridgerun.com/volunteers.
Additionally, Bridge2Bridge invites local businesses to consider sponsoring, offering a unique opportunity to support a community event and gain visibility among participants and spectators.
