Get Ready To Ride The Wave To South Carolina Children’s Theatre’s Nickelodeon THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL!
As SpongeBob himself says, “What’s better than serving up smiles?” That’s exactly what South Carolina Children’s Theatre will do in the production of the quirky, colorful, cultural phenomenon THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL! Created by Stephen Hillenburg, this megahit is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of its debut on Nickelodeon and brings to life the underwater town of Bikini Bottom from the iconic cartoon SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS.
SpongeBob manages to unite the citizens of Bikini Bottom and save the city from impending doom in this wildly entertaining show. An added blast is the music featuring songs from stellar musical artists and bands that parents will love like David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Lady A, Joe Perry and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, to name a few. You might have been a fan of its slapstick comedy as an adult when it first appeared on the scene in 1999. Or maybe you grew up with the aquatic tales of SpongeBob as a child. Either way, this show is sure to make a splash with audiences young and old!
This pearl of a show also features a virtual who’s who of the Greenville theatre scene with a cast including: Carter Allen (SpongeBob), Cody Cobb (Plankton), Rick Conner (Krab), Adell Ehrhorn (Sandy), Javy Pagan (Patrick), Mitchell Smith (Squidward) and a school of others!
Artistic Director Matt Giles can’t wait for this salty spray of song and dance to hit the stage! “I couldn’t be more excited to produce this ambitious whale of a musical. This show is a fun, heartfelt spectacle. Hattie Claire Andres (from Seattle Rep) is coming to stage this piece, and I can’t wait to watch her bring it to life.”
