GHS Beta Club grows to ‘distinction’
February 23, 2018
GILBERT, S.C. — More students joined one of Gilbert High School’s vital student organization this year, and with that growth came an additional level of recognition.
Led by English Teacher Josie K. Price, GHS’s Beta Club achieved National Beta School of Distinction status for increasing membership, in addition to continuing to promote academic excellence and college and career readiness.
GHS grew its membership by more than 10 percent in one year and currently has 162 members. Officers for the 2017–2018 school year include President Zach E. Henley and Co-Vice Presidents Brooke E. Jordan and Lindsey J. Scott.
National Beta Club chapters seek to encourage academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
