The Emerald Circle began in Spartanburg in 2000 and has raised more than $1,000,000 for girl leadership development. As the co-chairs for the 15th annual appeal, Anna and Carter are enthusiastic about sharing the mission. “Girls need the opportunities that Girl Scouting offers them,” Anna states. “Girls learn not only about their own communities but the state, nation and world as well. They participate in everything from the arts and technology to the outdoors and business entrepreneurship. Girls develop the skills they need to improve the lives of others today and for the future. It is so exciting to help make Girl Scouting accessible and relevant for today’s girls!”
Carter explains, “The Emerald Circle has been helping girls become the best they can be for 15 years all across Spartanburg County. Through our combined giving power, women are helping girls grow and build lifelong leadership skills every year. When your invitation arrives in your mailbox this spring, I urge you to join our Emerald Circle of women investing in girl leadership.”
