Girl Scouts Appoints Emerald Circle Co-chairs

July 14, 2015

Girl Scouts of South Carolina – Mountains to Midlands has appointed Patricia C. Hartung and Rossie Corwon as 2015 Co-chairs for its Emerald Circle. The Emerald Circle is a philanthropic group for women who annually support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and is united with Circles in other counties through a common ideal:  helping girls become leaders in their families, schools, churches and communities. Both Trish and Rossie are returning for a second year of leadership to expand the Greenwood County Circle to include Abbeville, McCormick, and Saluda counties.

After their success in founding the Emerald Circle last year in Greenwood County,  Trish and Rossie are enthusiastic about enlarging the Circle this year to include the three neighboring counties of Abbeville, McCormick, and Saluda. “In this part of South Carolina, there are so many visionary women we want to include in supporting girls and their leadership development. Through our combined giving power, all women in our area can help girls grow and build life skills. Girls need the opportunities Girl Scouting opens to them,” Trish explains.

“The Emerald Circle helps girls access healthy living, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), the outdoors, business entrepreneurship, and the arts. And Girl Scouts provides hundreds of hours of service in their communities every year. We are excited to be part of making it all possible for today’s girls!”

Trish adds, “I encourage you to become a member of our growing Emerald Circle of women empowering girls. When your invitation arrives, please join us through your generous gift to girls.”
