Girl Scouts of South Carolina–Mountains to Midlands convening statewide leaders to address the State of Girls in South Carolina
April 8, 2025The Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands is bringing together leaders from across the state to engage in critical conversations about the challenges facing today’s girls. With research showing a troubling confidence gap among girls and increasing levels of stress, pressure, and anxiety, action must be taken to secure the future of South Carolina.
Today’s girls are facing real issues. Nearly three in five girls in the United States report feeling persistently sad or hopeless—double the rate of boys. This decline in self-perception is impacting their well-being, their ability to lead, and their future potential. The Girl Scout organization is committed to tackling these challenges head-on by convening thought leaders to develop actionable solutions.
The first of four gatherings will take place on April 8, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Poinsett Club, 807 E. Washington Street, Greenville, SC. Breakfast will be provided. After a short presentation on the state of girls, community leaders will participate in roundtable discussions to explore solutions and strategies to support the next generation.
Additional gatherings will be held in Spartanburg, Aiken, and Columbia, with dates and locations to be announced soon. Leaders and stakeholders invested in the well-being and success of South Carolina’s girls are encouraged to attend and be part of this vital conversation.
