Homes of Hope Receives 100 Welcome Home Kits for Disaster-Affected Families

On Wednesday, August 20th, Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, partnered with Saint-Gobain to assemble hundreds of Welcome Home Kits for families across the Southeast impacted by natural disasters. The effort was part of Good360’s mission to close the need gap and ensure communities can recover more quickly after hardship.

As part of this community initiative, Homes of Hope—a Greenville-based nonprofit providing affordable housing and economic mobility programs—received 100 Welcome Home Kits to distribute directly to families in need. Each kit is filled with essential household items designed to help families restore stability after displacement or loss.

This donation comes at a critical time. Communities across the Southeast are still reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, which destroyed homes and displaced thousands earlier this year. With forecasts predicting another active hurricane season, the Welcome Home Kits provide tangible relief and hope for families preparing for potential emergencies.

Locally, the demand for affordable housing continues to rise as more families relocate to Greenville after being displaced by weather-related disasters. Affordable rental units like the ones Homes of Hope develops are becoming even more crucial, both for local families and those newly planted here due to storms. These Welcome Home Kits serve as a vital bridge for families rebuilding stability while waiting for or transitioning into safe, permanent housing.

“The welcome gifts put together by the hands of volunteers will be placed in the hands of new residents at Homes of Hope! What a gift to be able to witness community partnerships in action,” said Homes of Hope Resident Resource Coordinator Jenny Weidenbenner.

By bringing together corporate partners like Citizens Bank and Saint-Gobain, Good360 continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration in addressing urgent community needs and building long-term resilience.
