Gooding & Gooding, P.A. announces addition of Hugh Gooding to the firm

Gooding & Gooding, P.A., a personal injury law firm serving clients across South Carolina, announced that Hugh Gooding has joined the firm. He is practicing in the firm’s Allendale office, focusing on personal injury litigation and client advocacy.

A South Carolina native, Gooding received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law, where he distinguished himself through academic excellence and service. He was a member of the South Carolina Law Review, was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, and received The Roberts Senior Class Writing Award in 2025. During law school, he also served as a legal writing tutor and peer mentor, roles that further strengthened his research and communication skills.

Prior to joining the firm, Gooding gained legal experience through two summer clerkships with Murphy & Grantland, P.A., and a judicial externship with The Honorable Mary Geiger Lewis, United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina. Before entering the legal profession, he built a strong analytical foundation in finance, working as an Equity Research Associate and later as an Associate Officer, Multi-Asset Product Analyst with AllianceBernstein in Nashville, experiences that strengthened his research, analysis, and disciplined decision-making skills.

Firm founder Woodrow “Woody” Gooding shared his enthusiasm for the firm’s newest attorney.

Partner Laine Gooding also commented on Hugh’s addition to the team.
