Gov. Henry McMaster, S.C. Floodwater Commission Chairman Tom Mullikin release final Commission report

Governor Henry McMaster and South Carolina Floodwater Commission Chairman Tom Mullikin today released the Commission’s final report at its quarterly meeting in Horry County this morning.
“Major hurricanes and major flooding events in the last few years have shown us that water management is a statewide issue,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “This report is a significant step forward in a long journey of assessing and implementing strategies to protect our natural resources and ensure the well-being and prosperity for generations of South Carolinians.”

The Commission held its inaugural meeting in December of 2018, establishing ten task forces within the Commission that are populated by volunteer experts, local leaders, and elected officials. All available information about the Commission can be found on the governor’s website here.
