Grady Johnson named new Harbor Entrepreneur Executive Director
January 11, 2022Grady Johnson has been named executive director of the Harbor Entrepreneur Center. Prior to joining the staff of the Harbor Entrepreneur Center, Johnson served as group publisher of SC Biz News. Johnson is one of the founding partners of the Charleston Regional Business Journal and oversaw the creation of the SC Biz News brand and statewide expansion to include multiple titles and brands serving the business news niche in the Carolinas.
Johnson is a lifelong resident of the Charleston region, and prior to starting the Business Journal, he owned and operated numerous small businesses including Island Images Surf Shop in Mount Pleasant.
“This is a home run for the Harbor Entrepreneur Center. As a former volunteer, mentor, and most importantly, proven entrepreneur, Grady is perfectly qualified to take the organization to the next level” said Board Chairman Patrick Bryant.
Johnson is a graduate of Clemson University and is past president of the Alliance of Area Business Publications, the international trade organization serving business publications, as well as a past board member of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, SustainSC and the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, the builders of the Palmetto Trail.
The Harbor Entrepreneur Center consistently provides programming and opportunities for entrepreneurs to collide with other motivated, intelligent and capable individuals.
