Graham Reflects on Last Weeks Church Shooting in Charleston

June 24, 2015

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) took to the Senate floor today to reflect on last week’s horrific church shooting in Charleston.

Graham said:

“Within 48 hours of having your family member murdered, [the victims’ families] appear in a public setting looking the guy in the eye and say, ‘You have ruined my life but I love you and I forgive you.’ That is a level of love and understanding that can only come from some higher authority. I don’t have that within me. So when it comes to representing South Carolina, Tim [Scott] and I will do our best, but on our best day we’re nowhere close to these people.”
