Greenville Area Development Corporation Adds Debbie Amell to Team

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC – June 4, 2012 – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), charged with promoting and enhancing quality of life in Greenville County by facilitating job growth and investment, has added Debbie Amell as Administrative Assistant.

A native of Stillwater, New York, Mrs. Amell has more than 25 years of experience in providing administrative and executive support in state and local government arenas.  Most recently, she served in an administrative support capacity with the Greenville County Land Development Division.  Prior to relocating to Simpsonville, South Carolina in 2006, Ms. Amell worked with the New York State Department of Health Services.  She is married with twin sons.

In her new capacity with the economic development group, Mrs. Amell will provide customer support to GADC prospects, allies and investors, while assisting the GADC team in research, marketing, operational and administrative capacities.

Since its inception in 2001, the Greenville Area Development Corporation has announced support of more than 200 major projects representing more than $2.6 billion in capital investment and creating in excess of 15,000 new jobs in Greenville County.  Greenville County revenues from fee-in-lieu-of-tax (FILOT) agreements generated by GADC-assisted companies continue to grow, producing a 7:1 return on investment for public dollars invested in the organization since the GADC’s inception.  Private sector support of the GADC has also reached an all-time high, with more than 140 investor companies now contributing to the community’s success.
