Greenville-based Beija Flor Jeans opens boutique in Freshfields Village

March 16, 2017

This is the company’s first store outside of Greenville.

On Wednesday, March 15, Beija Flor Jeans will open its second brick and mortar boutique in Freshfields Village at the crossroads of Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. The company, which has its flagship store in Greenville, South Carolina, was launched by mother and daughter duo Emilie Whitaker and Kathy Moca. Beija Flor Jeans will complement the already diverse selection of women’s fashions in the Village.

Inspired by the materials and denim silhouettes they saw on a trip to Brazil, Whitaker and Moca created Beija Flor Jeans to give women a more flattering style of denim that works with their individual shape. The combination of innovative, slimming design and comfortable, eco-friendly fabrics has made Beija Flor Jeans a wardrobe staple for women across the country. In addition to the flagship store and its new location in Freshfields Village that will sell Beija Flor Jeans exclusively, the brand can also be found in specialty stores including Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor and Soft Surroundings. The name “Beija Flor” means “hummingbird” in Portuguese, and it represents the ever-evolving brand’s constant commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

“We are excited to welcome Beija Flor Jeans to our roster of tenants at Freshfields Village,” says Julie Beier, General Manager at Freshfields Village. “As a South Carolina grown company, we believe Beija Flor will be a welcomed addition with a unique and high quality product that our shoppers will appreciate.”

The denim boutique will open at 164 Gardener’s Circle. More information about the brand can be found on their website at www.beijaflorjeans.com.
