Greenville County celebrates National Community Development Week

The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) announced today that National Community Development Week will be celebrated in the Brutontown community on Wednesday, March 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a tour of the new Marie Street duplexes, funded with public and private financing.

The U. S. Department of Housing and Community Development has designated the week of March 28ththrough April 3rd as National Community Development Week.  It is a time when counties and cities across the nation celebrate their success in improving the quality of life for residents of communities they serve.  The week is also an opportunity for elected officials and citizens to tour current projects and have a first-hand account of the significance of these dollars have in the lives of local communities and citizens. 

The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority is a county agency established in 1974 to improve communities in Greenville County.  The agency has oversight and expenditure of Community Development Block Grant, HOME Partnership, Emergency Shelter and recently Neighborhood Stabilization funds provided to Greenville County by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
