Greenville Humane Society welcomes new members and officers to 2020 Board of Directors
January 15, 2020Greenville Humane Society announced its full slate of members for the 2020 Board of Directors, including new officers and three new members. The Board is made up of community members who help to provide leadership for the execution of the Humane Society’s mission to preserve the lives and enhance the well-being of animals. Joining the Board as new members in 2020 are Cindy Crick, Russ Miller and Marie Monroe.
“Cindy, Russ and Marie will be dynamic additions to our Board. They are all incredibly passionate about giving back to the community and equally as passionate in their love of four-legged friends. Welcoming new Board members who have so much enthusiasm for our cause will help us to continue serving the animal lovers of Greenville and beyond,” said Kim Pitman, Chief Executive Officer of the Greenville Humane Society.
Cindy Crick is a member of the White Collar Defense & Government Investigations team for Nelson Mullins. Prior to joining the firm, Crick served as both deputy chief and chief of staff to Trey Gowdy, former U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District. Crick has a history volunteering as a GHS dog walker and adopted her first pug with GHS. Since then she has fostered and adopted three more – including 12-year-old Pearl and 8-month-old Lou.
Marie Monroe provides Merline and Meacham, PA. with expertise in estate planning and non-profit law, among other areas. In addition, Marie is active in the Greenville community, involved with both The Community Foundation of Greenville and the Meals on Wheels Endowment. Monroe and her family rescued their dog, Snerdley, in 2011 and both of her children are actively involved at GHS in volunteer capacities.
Russ Miller is a partner at Nachman Norwood & Parrott Wealth Management Consultancy and has been a member of the wealth management industry since 2006. He is committed to serving the Greenville community and has previously been involved with the Caine Halter YMCA, the Downtown Rotary Club, the Christ Church Outreach Committee and more. Russ’ family enjoys spending time with their 2-year-old Golden Doodle named Mingo.
Crick, Miller, and Monroe will join a distinguished Board of Directors in 2020. The new Slate of Officers includes Ronnie Hyatt, retired Senior Vice President/ CFO of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, as Chairman of the 2020 Board of Directors. Bank Hipp, retired executive and community leader, will serve as Vice Chairman. Paul Chambers, Vice President with Marsh & McLennan Agency/Rosenfeld Einstein, is serving as Secretary. A shareholder of Elliot Davis, Frances Patterson will use her financial expertise to serve as Treasurer. The Executive Committee is rounded out by Kathy McKinney, Attorney at Law with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, PA; Scott Pietras, Corporate Compliance Officer with the Office of Corporate Integrity at Prisma Health – Upstate; and Suzanne Sanders, attorney and community volunteer.
