Greenville Nonprofits Talk Community Collaboration at Shine the Light

GREENVILLE, SC – DNA Creative Communications (DNA), in partnership with the Hollingsworth Funds, Community Foundation of Greenville and United Way of Greenville County, hosted Expanding Leadership Beyond Your Walls, the third of a four-part series of Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums (STL), on September 9.
“It was great to see so many organizations discussing how they can collaborate to better our community,” said Debbie Nelson, President of DNA and founder of STL. “Collective impact is vital for nonprofit success, and Greenville is proving how it can work.”
Over 100 local nonprofit leaders and funders from the state gathered at STL on Tuesday to learn, collaborate and network. Keynote speaker Sydney Rogers, Executive Director of Alignment Nashville, joined us from Nashville, TN to share her expertise on collective impact and leadership. A panel of four local leaders joined Rogers in discussing their opinions and thoughts on collaborative leadership in Greenville:

- Sean Dogan, Long Branch Baptist Church
- Tony McDade, GAIHN
This year’s STL focus is on four key elements of nonprofit leadership. All sessions are held at the Kroc Center from 8 a.m. − noon with a networking breakfast. The final session this year is:
· Leading for Sustainability on November 19, featuring Kathy Hedge, author and Nonprofit Consultant from Washington, D.C.

Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums
Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums is an annual series of educational workshops presented by DNA Creative Communications in Greenville, SC. Each session is designed exclusively for nonprofit professionals, executive directors and board members to provide insight and training in operating a successful nonprofit organization. Since its launch in 2010, more than 1,300 participants and 375 nonprofit organizations have attended a Shine the Light Nonprofit Forum.
