Greenville Tech Students Recognized as ALL-USA Academic Team Nominees

GREENVILLE, SC – May 27, 2011 – Kory Kraft and Jessie Stanion, students at Greenville Technical College, were recently recognized as All-USA Community College Academic Team nominees in recognition of their scholarly achievements and leadership accomplishments.

This year, over 1,600 community, technical and junior college nominees competed for the All-USA Academic Team, and 20 students were selected.

Kraft is a student in Greenville Tech’s Honors Program, who is completing an associate degree with plans to transfer to a four-year college or university this summer.
Stanion is also a student in the Honors Program with plans to transfer. She hopes to study at Furman University, eventually completing a master’s degree in neuroscience.

The All-USA Community College Academic Team is presented by USA TODAY, Phi Theta Kappa, and the American Association of Community Colleges, and is sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group.

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students.
