Greenville Technical College Offers Free OB Ultrasounds to the Public

GREENVILLE, SC – The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Greenville Technical College is offering appointments to the public for free OB ultrasounds at the Barton campus on Wednesdays from January 14 through March 25, 2015. These ultrasounds are performed by students in the ultrasound lab under direct supervision. Sonogram pictures are provided at the end of the exam.
Typically this is a fun and educational time for parents as they get to hear more about what sonographers do during an ultrasound as well as see their baby’s growth. Parents are allowed to bring children and other family members and exams take about 1.5 hours.
Interested parents should note:
• Scanning labs are for mothers-to-be between 19-33 weeks gestational age.
• Written approval from your primary OB physician is required and must reflect the patient’s name to participate in the lab.
• Labs are for training purposes only and will in no way be a substitute for your official ultrasound examination ordered by your physician.
• A release form must be signed prior to scan.
