Greenville Theatre presents Sunday in the Park with George: A Staged Symphony Concert

January 15, 2026

Join Greenville Theatre for the first production of the new year, Sunday in the Park with George: A Staged Symphony ConcertDon’t miss this musical theatre masterpiece as it has never been seen or heard before! This uniquely staged symphony concert presentation of Sunday in the Park with George will feature a full live orchestra made up of students from the Fine Arts Center alongside professional local Upstate musicians. Inspired by George Seurat’s famous painting, this Pulitzer Prize-winning musical brings the canvas to life through a stunning score, poignant truths, and an exploration of art and why we create it.

Directed by Max Quinlan with musical direction by Chase McAbee and Meghan Reimers, this beautiful symphony presentation is led by Andrew Anderson as George and Jamie Ann Walters as Dot alongside Cody Cobb, Jennifer Davis, and Lauren Madigan.

“This show is a true exploration of what it means to be an artist. We see George Seurat succeed, struggle, and sacrifice in order to bring his vision to life. In his strive to make something original, he creates the art form of pointillism seen in his famous work “A Sunday on La Grande Jatte.” And just like his work made up of many small dots, art, life, and relationships can only truly reveal their meaning when viewed as a whole,” says Director Max Quinlan.
