Greenville Water Welcomes New Hires
April 20, 2015GREENVILLE SC – Greenville Water is happy to announce the addition of several new hires to the team. Each new team member brings knowledge and experience unique to each role.
Olivia Vassey joined the Greenville Water team as the Communications Specialist. Olivia received her BA in Political Science and Masters of Public Administration from Clemson University. She has 10 years of local government and project management experience at the county and municipal levels. Most recently, Olivia served the city of Mauldin as Project Manager where she developed and implemented a public relations and branding strategy. She began her career in Pickens County where she led the first countywide tourism board and strategic plan.
Shana Lowe became the new GIS Supervisor. Previously, Shana was the GIS Analyst/ Business System Analyst for the Portland Water District in Portland, Maine. Prior to that she was a GIS Technician in Key West, Florida. Shana has a BA in Psychology from State University of New York and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from California State University, Fullerton.
Jane Arrington began her position as Greenville Water’s new Business Analyst. Most recently Jane was employed as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Wofford College. Prior to that she was the Technical Services Project Manager and then Water Research Manager with Spartanburg Water. Jane held Assistant Professorships at USC-Upstate, Central Washington University and Agnes Scott College. Jane earned a BS in Chemistry from Xavier University and a Ph.D. in Physical-Analytical Chemistry from the University of Utah.
Tim Durham has joined the team as the Adkins Plant Superintendent. Tim comes to us from the City of Clarksville, Georgia where he most recently served as Public Services Director. Tim holds an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science Technology from North Georgia Technical College and a BS in Business Administration from Southern Polytechnic State University.
Rick Posey has accepted the position of Human Resources Director. Rick comes to Greenville Water with a wealth of knowledge and experience. His previous roles have been Human Resources at Baptist Easley Hospital. Prior to that he was the VP of Human Resources for Caris HealthCare, LP in Knoxville, TN for over six years. Rick holds a BA in Psychology from Midwestern State University and an MBA from University of Texas.
Mark Hattendorf joined the Greenville Water team in April. Mark has a BS in Mechanical Engineering Tech from Purdue University. He has worked on progressively complex industrial capital improvement projects. His ten years of engineering experience involves the design of pumping stations, potable waterlines, sewer-lines, and wastewater treatment process facilities. Mark has experience managing projects & contracts from the initial budgeting through execution and operation phases.
Greenville Water has developed a strong relationship with Greenville Works, which is a federally funded program assisting unemployed and underemployed workers achieve a sustainable wage. Greenville Water has hired five individuals through this program including two military veterans. Greenville Water in concert with Greenville Works developed a training program specifically geared towards the Operations Technician position. Greenville Works provides the necessary WorkKeys testing and other pre-employment necessities. Each new hire has twelve weeks to meet certain job-related requirements. Using this program as a recruitment tool reduces the cost of the hiring process, which is a win-win for all parties.
