Greenville Women Giving announces 2015 Grant Cycle recipients
May 11, 2015GREENVILLE, SC – On May 6, 2015 Greenville Women Giving, during their Annual Meeting, announced their 2015 Grant Cycle recipients. Generations Group Homes, Inc. was honored to be selected to receive $87,000 to complete the funding needed to renovate the Hartwell House on the Horizons Campus. Hartwell was the very first house opened by founder, Kathleen Reynolds, when Generations first opened the doors to work with troubled adolescent boys in 1991.
“Literally hundreds of kids have called the Hartwell House home,” said Brian Clark, Generations executive director. “This house is where those boys healed and where they changed their lives; and now thanks to Greenville Women Giving, hundreds more into the future will be able to do so in a fresh homelike environment.”
Generations Group Homes since 1991 has grown to three campuses, all located in southern Greenville County, with the capacity to work with up to 76 boys. “Generations has made a real difference in transforming the lives of these children to assure no more victims,” shared Kathleen Reynolds. “By helping the boys heal from the traumas they have endured, and understand that moving forward their choices can be positive ones, we are breaking the cycle.” 98% of the almost 900 boys through Generations’ programs since 1991 have been successful!
As the boys currently living in the Hartwell house said, “Thank you Greenville Women Giving for making our house into a home!”
