Greenville Women Giving releases 2018 grants application info

October 9, 2017

Greenville Women Giving (“GWG”), a local women’s collective philanthropic and grant making organization that serves Greenville County, will open its annual grant application process on October 16, and will offer two Grant Information Sessions on October 30 and November 1 for both new and returning grant applicants to attend to learn more about this year’s grant application process.

GWG seeks to fund worthy projects that have the potential for high impact and significant positive change in the areas of Arts and Culture, Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services. Funds available for grants are generated by the annual donations of GWG members and other donor-directed funds through the Community Foundation of Greenville. Grants are awarded once per year based on the cumulative voting of all current GWG members.

GWG welcomes grant requests from 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit agencies located within or offering services to the citizens of Greenville County. GWG members believe that a strong community requires strong programs and services across a variety of sectors. Therefore, GWG will award at least one grant in each of the five focus areas listed above. The remainder of the applications will be ranked and grants awarded accordingly with all remaining funds. Grant sizes range from $50,000 to $100,000. In May 2017, GWG awarded over $613,000 to 10 local, non-profit organizations.
