Greenville’s Poinsett Club elects first female President along with new Board
March 4, 2025At its annual meeting of the membership on February 25, the Poinsett Club elected and installed its new officers and board members for the coming year. Among the newly elected leaders is Phyllis Graydon, who will serve as President of the Board of Governors, becoming the first female president in the club’s 90-year history.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Graydon brings financial expertise and leadership experience to her new role. She has previously served on several key committees, including the Audit and Finance Committee, the Master Plan Committee, and the Compensation Committee.
Joining Graydon in leadership are:
- Ross Plyler, Vice President
- Courtney Atkinson, Secretary/Treasurer
- Kevin Mertens, President-Elect
Additionally, the club welcomes new board members Mr. Michael B. Bridges, Mr. William A. Murphy, Mr. P. Earle Oxner, and Mr. Dante’ Russo.
Brent Reeder, General Manager of the Poinsett Club, complimented Graydon’s leadership and spoke about the club’s commitment to progress.
“Phyllis Graydon has been deeply involved in the leadership of the Poinsett Club for many years,” Reeder said. “She has served on numerous committees and the Board of Governors prior to her election as president. As a successful CPA and business owner, she brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership. Her passion and dedication will guide us into an exciting new chapter for the Poinsett Club.”
In response to her election, Graydon reflected on the significance of her new role.
