Greer Relief announces Greer Christmas Parade Grand Marshal & judges
November 29, 2016Greer Relief announced that the 2016 Grand Marshal is Chief Dan Reynolds, City of Greer Police Chief. Chief Reynolds and his wife Dawn will lead the parade through Greer on Sunday Dec. 4th at 2:30 PM. The entire community comes together for the parade and is very proud of this annual tradition. The festivities are held in conjunction with a weekend of activities organized by the City of Greer. Join us in Greer, SC to kick off the holiday season! The parade will draw residents and visitors from all around the state to enjoy what always proves to be a joyful holiday experience.
Dan Reynolds was appointed the City of Greer’s Chief of Police in February of 2005 after serving for more than 30 years with the Savannah (Ga.) Police Department. A strong advocate of community oriented policing and problem solving, he has forged strong partnerships between Greer neighborhoods and his department. Chief Reynolds also participates on several boards and advisory groups in the community, including the Greer Relief Board of Directors where he also served as President. Earlier this year Chief Reynolds announced his retirement for early 2017. Dan and Dawn have enjoyed watching and being a part of Greer’s tremendous growth over the past sixteen years.
The 2016 Greer Christmas Parade “A Vintage Christmas” will feature over 75 parade units including numerous businesses, clubs, organizations, churches, schools, dignitaries, and 2 marching bands in the parade lineup. Santa Claus will be the featured guest of the parade. Judging this year’s parade is Greer Relief Board of Directors President: Scott Harke; Leadership Greer Representative: Jennifer Polson from BNC; and Community Partner: Cory Culp from AFL.
