GSE Lining Technology expands in Williamsburg County
March 2, 2012$5 million investment will enable full product line production and create jobs
COLUMBIA,SC – March 1, 2012 – GSE Lining Technology, a manufacturer ofgeosynthetic lining products, is expanding its current operations inWilliamsburg County. The $5 million investment is expected to generate24 new jobs.

South Carolina has been a greatfit for our facility, providing us with a business-friendly climate andskilled talent. We appreciate the support we’ve received from state andlocal officials,” said Don Bohac, director of Manufacturing for GSE.
GSELining Technology’s facility in Williamsburg County currently producesgeotextile fabric and synthetic drainage products used in wastemanagement and precious metals mining, and a range of civil engineeringapplications. With this expansion, GSE Lining will be able tomanufacture their complete line of geosynthetic clay liner products. Thecompany is targeting May to complete the expansion.

In2011, South Carolina recruited more than $4.7 billion in investment andmore than 13,000 new jobs in the manufacturing sector.

TheCoordinating Council for Economic Development approved a ruralinfrastructure grant worth $350,000 for the county to help with a railspur to the facility. readySC will provide training for potentialworkers.
