GSSM Announces Three New Appointments to Board of Trustees

The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees, appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster: Dr. Daniel M. Ervin, Mr. Harvey L. Glick, and Ms. Wardie C. Sanders.

The newly appointed trustees bring professional experience in health care, finance and education, strengthening the Board’s ability to provide strategic guidance and governance in support of GSSM’s statewide mission.

“We are pleased to welcome these accomplished leaders to the GSSM Board of Trustees,” said Danny Dorsel, president of GSSM. “Their diverse backgrounds and commitment to service will be valuable as we continue to expand opportunities for students across South Carolina.”

New Trustees

Dr. Daniel M. Ervin is a retired physician whose career reflects a long-standing commitment to service and leadership in health care. His experience provides valuable perspective on organizational leadership and community engagement.

Mr. Harvey L. Glick is executive chairman of First Capital Bank. He brings extensive experience in financial leadership, governance and strategic oversight developed through decades of service in the banking industry.

Ms. Wardie C. Sanders is a retired teacher with a career dedicated to public education. Her classroom experience and understanding of student learning contribute important insight to the Board’s work.

GSSM’s Board of Trustees is appointed by the governor of South Carolina and provides governance and strategic oversight for the school, supporting its mission and long-term direction.
