GSSM announces Wall Street investment manager to deliver 29th commencement address
May 29, 2018The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) Board of Trustees announced that Ms. Pamela Lawrence, a leading Wall Street investment manager and entrepreneur, will deliver GSSM’s 29th Commencement address at the Harris E. & Louise H. DeLoach Center at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
Lawrence has spent more than 30 years managing fund portfolios, valuing businesses, evaluating management teams, and guiding public and private businesses through financial and operational restructurings. She is a member of 100 Women in Finance, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the Financial Women’s Association of New York.
Lawrence co-founded her first woman-owned business in 2001, launching Restoration Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund management company specializing in investments and management assistance for distressed companies. In 2012, she co-founded Gibbes Bay Advisors, LLC. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Investment Committee Member at Seaport Global Asset Management in New York City.
Lawrence’s work has been recognized in leading industry publications, and she is active in community development through her work on numerous boards and associations.
