GTCHS teacher “Hero of the Classroom” national top 10 finalist
October 7, 2024Greenville Technical Charter High School is excited to share that our very own Valerie Dix, a dedicated educator and last year’s South Carolina Public Charter High School 2023 Teacher of the Year has been selected as one of ten finalists nationwide in the national Kleenex® “Heroes of the Classroom” contest which celebrates exceptional teachers who make a profound impact on their students and communities by fostering strength, creating positive change, and inspiring future generations. As one of the top ten finalists, Valerie Dix now has the chance to win: • $5,000 for themself • $5,000 for Greenville Technical Charter High School, and • A year’s supply of Kleenex®Brand Tissues!
Voting is open to the public through October 11th, and each unique email vote helps move Valerie Dix one step closer to winning.

About Greenville Technical Charter High School
GTCHS is a middle college and the first Charter School in the state to offer dual enrollment courses to high school students allowing them the opportunity to earn college credit and/or associate degrees. Personalization of instruction and the school’s built-in support system has culminated in South Carolina’s top ten ACT, SAT, and EOC (end of course) examinations, and a 100% graduation in 2024.
