Harry Mashburn received AGC honor
August 1, 2016On Friday June 29, 2016 Harry Mashburn was inducted into the Carolinas chapter of the Associated General Contractors Hall of Fame.
Mr. Mashburn was nominated by Bill Mashburn, secretary and treasurer of D.J. Rose & Son, Inc.; Mr. Mashburn was unaware of the induction until the 2016 CAGC Divisions’ Conference on Hilton Head Island last weekend. Tennant Powers of Collins & Wright and Wes Dasher of BB&T, two industry sponsors, introduced Mr. Mashburn at the event and in attendance were his son, Executive Vice President Preconstruction H. Lee Mashburn with wife Ramelle and son Harry, III; Vice President Preconstruction Richard Kinard and wife Lauren; and Chief Financial Officer Robert Parsons with wife Stephanie.
To be considered for this award the nominee must be a past or present CAGC member, be at least 50 years old and have at least 15 years of active involvement in the CAGC and the construction industry. The CAGC website says that considerations for “active involvement” are as follows: Time and Energy, Ideas and processes, Sponsorship and support of CAGC events and programs, Attendance at CAGC events, Service on board and committees and other leadership roles, Advocate for NC/SC PACs, and Advocate and supporter of CAGC Foundation Civic and Community investments.
