Healthy Learners Announces New Appointments to Board of Trustees

LogoSOC_HL_LCCOLUMBIA, SC – May 6, 2014 – Healthy Learners announces the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees. Healthy Learners is pleased to welcome Jack Godbold, Jenny Sarvis Isgett, and Margaret Bennett Stover to the board of trustees.

Healthy Learners is a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school. The organization addresses poverty at its root, so that future generations can lift themselves, and their communities, to a better life.

“The Healthy Learners Board members are responsible for governing and acting in the best interest of the organization,” said Jo Pauling-Jones, executive director of Healthy Learners. “The Board is made up of individuals who have the talents, skills, experiences and passion to carry out the mission and vision of the organization, and we know the service of these new members will provide tremendous benefits to the board and organization as a whole.”

Jack-GodboldRJack Godbold is an Insurance Broker at Keenan & Suggs, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Godbold is Jr. Warden at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and serves on the Richland County Public Library Board of Trustees. He has served as a board member of The Friends of Richland County Public Library, Columbia Sertoma Club, and Crayton Middle School PTSO and is a former president of the AC Flora High School PTSO. Godbold is married to Janie Goldbold and they have three children – Ravenel, James, and Cravens.

 

Jennifer-Isgett-(photo)Jenny Sarvis Isgett is an attorney and agency representative at Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, where she has been employed since November of 2005. She was recently promoted to assistant vice president of the company. Isgett has also served as an adjunct professor in the paralegal program at Midlands Technical College for the last 6 years. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and received her law degree from Campbell University. A recipient of The State Newspaper’s Top 20 under 40 Award, Isgett holds membership in the Palladium Society of Historic Columbia where she has served on the Executive Board, the Contemporaries of the Columbia Museum of Art, the Junior League of Columbia, the Rotary Club of Five Points, where she currently serves as chair of the Membership Committee, and the Urban Land Institute. She is also President-elect and member of the board of directors for the Palmetto Land Title Association, as well as a four time participant/fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.

Margaret-Bennett-Stover-(photo)Margaret Bennett Stover is a retired teacher and dedicated community volunteer. She has served on the Trinity Cathedral Vestry and taught Sunday school. In addition, she served on The Ronald McDonald House Board during the construction of the house and was a member of the Junior League of Columbia, where she was vice president and served as chairman of several different committees. Stover also served on the American Cancer Society Board, the Richland County First Steps Board, and served as a Providence Hospital Volunteer. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Stover is married to John Stover and they have three adult children – Matt, William, and Emily.

Healthy Learners thanks its new board members for their interest and willingness to serve in this important leadership position, as well as support the mission of Healthy Learners.
