Healthy Learners Announces New Board of Trustee Members

COLUMBIA, SC – Healthy Learners announces the addition of Sharon Reynolds Earle, Ed.D., Taranda M. Frost, MBA, James L. Gallieshaw, and Lite Nartey, Ph.D. to the Healthy Learners Board of Trustees.
Healthy Learners is a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school. The organization addresses poverty at its root, so that future generations can lift themselves, and their communities, to a better life.

We are blessed to have these new members join our governing Board.”
Dr. Sharon Reynolds Earle has over twenty-two years of experience in education, with sixteen years of district level administration in early childhood education and parent and family services. She holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Lander University, master of education in guidance/counseling and personnel services from Clemson University and an Ed.D. in education leadership from South Carolina State University. Earle is currently the owner of SIR Consultant Group based in Columbia, South Carolina and owner and senior national sales director partner with Primerica Financial Services.
Earle’s past and present community and professional involvement include serving on the Boards of Trustees of the Central Carolina Community Foundation, Brookland Academy Child Development Center and EdVenture Children’s Museum. She has involvement with several committees, to include the March of Dimes Committee, African American Achievement Award Committee and the South Carolina Department of Education Family and Community Involvement Committee. Earle also has affiliation with the South Carolina Parent Involvement Task Force and the African American Student Achievement Task Force. Additionally, her affiliations include Primerica Financial Services Field Cabinet, Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc., Moles, Inc., Jack and Jill of America and the National Smart Set.
Earle and her husband, Ivan are the parents of four children, Ivan II (22), Andrew (18), Bryson (13) and Arrington (7).
Taranda M. Frost is a certified, experienced human resources professional, specifically with health and welfare plans, defined contribution (401k), and defined benefit (retirement/pension) plans. Frost holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of South Carolina, master of arts degree in human resources management from Webster University, as well as a master of business administration, also from Webster University. She has been employed at SCANA since 2005 and is supervisor of Benefits Administration & Compliance. Frost has held the offices of President and Vice-President of the South Carolina Compensation & Benefit Professionals Board (a division of WorldatWork) and has held the offices of Vice-President of Education and Secretary of Toastmasters International. She also has past affiliation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and WorldatWork.
James L. Gallieshaw has a 25 year Human Resources career, distinguished by commendable performance and proven results. Gallieshaw has a master of arts in human resources management from Troy State University. His professional experience includes working as a human resources director at Babcock Center, Inc., a director of employee relations & recruitment at Palmetto Health (Richland Campus), as well as an investigator at the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission. Gallieshaw has served on the United Way of the Midlands Board of Directors and the Columbia Junior College Board of Directors.
Dr. Lite Nartey is an Assistant Professor in the Sonoco International Business Department at the Darla Moore School of Business. Nartey is from Ghana and she joined the Moore School in 2011. Nartey holds a bachelor of science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi Ghana, a master of public administration from New York University, a master of science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D., also from the University of Pennsylvania. In her current work, Professor Nartey draws from network theory to outline innovative strategies firms can use to improve relations with stakeholders and thus build stakeholder support.
Nartey’s work has been recognized for several awards, to include the Douglas Nigh Memorial Best Paper Award 2011, the Aspen Institute’s Center for Business Education 2010 Proposal Award, and Best Paper at the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability (ARCS) 2010, Ph.D. Sustainability Academy. Her conceptual paper on the theory portion of her dissertation was nominated for the Haynes Prize for the Most Promising Scholar 2010 at the Academy of International Business.
