March 31, 2015

FLORENCE, SC – Help4Kids Florence announced a partnership with Turner Padget Graham & Laney P.A. to fill the hunger gap for Florence County elementary school-aged children who depend on school meals as their primary source of nourishment. The 66 attorneys of Turner Padget will spend part of their firmwide annual retreat on today fromnoon to 2:30 p.m. at Help4Kids Florence’s warehouse at 2420 Hoffmeyer Road packing 900 of the lunches. In addition, R. Wayne Byrd, chief executive officer of Turner Padget, will present Help4Kids Florence with $2,500, which covers the cost of the 900 bags that the South Carolina law firm will pack.

“We are honored to partner with Help4Kids Florence to actively change the lives of the Florence students, who are ultimately serving as change-agents for their entire families,” said Byrd. “The community of Florence has embraced our firm, and in return, we are thankful for the opportunity to roll up our sleeves with this meaningful project.”

Turner Padget recently celebrated its 85th anniversary as one of South Carolina’s largest law firms, and part of the firm’s legacy has been its investment in the communities in which it serves clients. This is the second consecutive year in which the firm has held its retreat in Florence and contributed to the local community. The firmwide, two-day meeting, held at the Hotel Florence, will also include a 5K run to promote health and wellness, a leadership forum roundtable for Turner Padget’s women lawyers, and training programs related to client service and recruiting.
