Heroes In Blue announces plans for 3rd Annual Feed an Officer Campaign

November 13, 2017

Heroes In Blue publicized their official plans for the 3rd Annual Feed an Officer Campaign. In 2016, the Campaign was able to provide lunch to 531 officers and the participating restaurants provided more than $7700 in gift cards. The 2017 Campaign will begin on Sunday, November 26th and will go through December 11th.

During the days of the Campaign, members of the community donate money to participating restaurants. On December 14thGreg Alia Day, the money raised is counted and distributed by Heroes In Blue volunteers to local police stations as either a lunch or a gift certificate for meals. The organization is making a request to get as many local restaurants to participate as possible by November 20th.

Heroes In Blue Founder, Kassy Alia, stated “Greg Alia Day is a chance for us to serve those who serve others – our police officers. In Greg’s memory, we are coordinating our third annual Feed an Officer Campaign to show support to our officers and their families to thank them for how they serve our communities with kindness, bravery and compassion each and every day. Please help us give back to those who are willing to give their all by participating in this important event.”

Kassy is the widow of Officer Greg Alia, a Police Officer with the Forest Acres Police Department that was killed in the line of duty on September 30, 2015.
