Home Builders Association of South Carolina Announces Winners of 2008 Pinnacle Awards
February 17, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – February 16, 2009 – The Home Builders Association of South Carolina announces the Seventh Annual Pinnacle Awards for outstanding craftsmanship in the construction of quality homes.
Awards were presented in eight new construction categories, four remodeling categories, and eleven sales and marketing categories at an awards banquet in Charleston February 12, 2009. Homes entered must have been completed after October 1, 2007, and the builder of record must be an HBA member. The participants supplied the judges with floor plans, exterior elevations, color photographs and a commentary on each entry. In addition, a list of all sub-contractors and their membership status in the HBA was required.
The Pinnacle Awards were created to honor those in our industry who have achieved the highest standard of quality craftsmanship, innovative problem solving and customer satisfaction. This competition is a privilege of membership as well as a means of challenging our members to greater levels of achievement. Merit Awards are given to the runner up in each new construction and remodeling category.
New Construction Winners
$199,999 and under – Holiday Builders of Columbia for Hutchinson
A Merit Award was given to Mungo Construction of Columbia.
$200,000 to $499,999 – Kairos Properties, LLC of Florence for Smythe Place
A Merit Award was given to Haven Custom Homes of Ridgeland.
$500,000 to 749,999 – Beeson Henthorn Development of Spartanburg for Beeson Residence
A Merit Award was given to Haven Custom Homes of Ridgeland.
$750,000 to $999,999 – Baudo & Associates Home Builders, Inc. of Lexington for Briarwood
A Merit Award was given to Harden Tuten Custom Homes, LLC of Bluffton.
$1 million to $1,499,999 – O’Connell Signature Homes of Rock Hill for 755 Landfall
A Merit Award was given to Cook Bonner Construction, Inc. of Charleston.
$1.5 million to $199,999 – Chapman Design Group, Inc. of Anderson for Roose Residence
A Merit Award was given to Palatial Homes, LLC of Hilton Head.
$2 million to $4.99 million – The Berry Group, LLC of Six Mile for Burwood Court
A Merit Award was given to Gabriel Builders, Inc. of Greer.
$5 million or more – Thomas M. Evans Construction & Development of Moncks Corner for 2208 Palm Boulevard
Remodel Winners
$149,999 and less – A Pinnacle Award was not given in this category.
A Merit Award was given to Design & Remodeling Solutions, LLC of Gaston.
$150,000 to $249,999 – Bair Builders, Inc. of Elloree for Tom and Holly Geiger Residence
A Merit Award was given to JD Norris Construction of Beech Island.

The magazine will be an excellent resource for South Carolina residents and newcomers alike to learn about products and services provided by South Carolina’s home builders, including home shows and tours of homes sponsored by local home builders associations across the state.
