Honors Night nominations now open

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce has opened the nomination process for the 2017 Honors Night Awards. Any Chamber member in good standing can nominate either themselves, or another Chamber member to receive one of the six prestigious awards, to celebrate business and community leaders with exemplary commitment to the region’s economic development and quality of life. You may make a nomination for all of the awards, or only one. The Chamber will honor and celebrate the nominees and winners at the Annual Honors Night Award Reception in September.

Deadline for nominations is May 10, 2017.

The 2017 Honors Night Awards available for nominations are:

The Trailblazer Award
The Trailblazer Award recognizes a business entity that has created a cutting-edge product or service. Previous winners include Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union (2016), Boomtown (2015), Clemson University Restoration Institute (2014), Benefitfocus (2013) and Blackbaud (2012).

The Beacon Award
The Beacon Award recognizes a project/structure or company that has elevated the aesthetics and improved the quality of life for the Charleston region. Previous winners include Charleston County Aviation Authority (2016), Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park (2015), the Johnnie Dodds Boulevard/Highway Improvement Project (2014), the King Street Restoration Project (2014) and the Ravenel Bridge (2013).

Rock Star Award
The Rock Star Award recognizes a business entity that has experienced significant achievement resulting in a positive impact on the region. The previous winners of this award include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Charleston District (2016), Westrock Land and Development for the development of Nexton (2015), SPARC, LLC (2014), Kiawah Island Golf Resort PGA Tournament (2013) and Boeing (2012).

Pillar Award
The Pillar Award recognizes a business entity known for long-standing excellence. Previous winners of the award include Home Telecom (2016), Joint Base Charleston (2015), The Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (2014), The InterTech Group (2013)  and  Piggly Wiggy (2012).

Milestone Award
The Milestone Award was newly introduced in 2014 and recognizes an outstanding small business (50 or fewer employees) which exemplifies success regarding a unique product or service, scalability/growth/performance or community involvement. Previous winners of the award include Wonder Works (2016), Croghan’s Jewel Box (2015) and Rewined Candles (2014).

One to Watch Award
The One to Watch Award was also newly introduced in 2014 and recognizes an individual, rising through the ranks, with outstanding professional success in the Charleston business arena demonstrating impeccable leadership qualities. Previous winners of the award include Ryan Johnson of City of North Charleston (2016), Elizabeth Wooten Burwell of Wells Fargo (2015) and Jessica Jackson of The Boeing Company (2014).
