Whether you are looking for a high-energy egg venture or a quiet morning of reflection, here is your guide to what is happening across the corridor.
The Big Egg Hunts
The centerpiece of many family traditions, several large-scale egg hunts are scheduled throughout late March and early April. Organizers recommend arriving early and bringing your own baskets.
-
The Great Egg Venture (Heritage Park, Simpsonville): On Saturday, March 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., First Baptist Simpsonville will host this free community event. In addition to continuous egg hunts for various age groups, the afternoon includes inflatables and prizes. For those who prefer a more socially distanced experience, a drive-thru option is available at the Downtown Campus (3 Hedge Street) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the same day.
-
Easter Egg Extravaganza (Beth Haven Baptist, Simpsonville): Scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., this event features specialized hunts, bounce houses, and face painting. It is designed to be an all-ages celebration at 721 Neely Ferry Road.
-
Hidden Pasture Unicorn Farm (Fountain Inn): For a unique twist, the farm at 245 Little Virginia Road will host hourly egg hunts on March 28 and 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors can also meet the Easter Bunny and explore the farm animals.
Faith and Reflection: Sunrise Services
For many residents, Easter morning begins before the sun crests the horizon. Several local congregations are hosting outdoor services to commemorate the holiday.
-
Mauldin First Baptist Church: A traditional sunrise service is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 a.m. in the outdoor amphitheater, followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall.
-
Fountain Inn Presbyterian: Known for their historic cemetery and grounds, the church often hosts a reflective morning service at 7:00 a.m. focused on music and scripture.
-
Sunrise at Heritage Park: While not a single-church event, several local fellowship groups gather at the top of the amphitheater in Simpsonville for a non-denominational service starting at 6:45 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Easter Brunch and Dining
The Golden Strip’s growing culinary scene is also getting in on the festivities. Several restaurants that are known for their outdoor seating and family-friendly vibes are offering specialized menus.
-
Larkin’s Sawmill (Greenville/Simpsonville Border): This popular venue is hosting an Easter Sunday brunch and egg hunt from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 5. The buffet includes Southern staples like quiche and shrimp and grits, with hunts scheduled at 10:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 1:45 p.m.
