Horry County Department of Airports Reports June 2015 Passenger Statistics

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – During June 2015, 112,500 passengers arrived into the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), an increase of 7.03 percent compared to Year-to-date (YTD) June 2015 the number of passenger arriving into MYR was up 3.05 percent over the same period last year, from 417,831 to 430,565 passengers. YTD Spirit Airlines delivered 232,502 people to the Grand Strand, US Airways/American Airlines 83,063, Delta Air Lines 70,062, Allegiant 29,388, United 9,324, Porter 2,650 and WestJet 3,052, while charters operations delivered 524 passengers.

“As a result of a strong airline industry and the popularity of the Myrtle Beach market, passenger traffic at the Myrtle Beach International Airport is trending above previous years” said Pat Apone, director of airports. “June passenger traffic is up 7 percent over 2014, 16 percent over 2013 and 33 percent over 2012. The Horry County Department of Airport’s team and its partners are excited about the growth, and continue to work hard in an attempt to ensure each guest passing through the facility has a positive and memorable experience of the Myrtle Beach International Airport.”
