Hotel Hartness announced the appointment of Glen Williams  as General Manager, bringing more than three decades of award-winning hotel leadership to one  of the Upstate’s most distinctive boutique properties.

Williams joins Hotel Hartness with 33 years of experience in hospitality operations, openings,  sales, revenue management, and team leadership across major national brands including Hilton,  Marriott, Hyatt, and Embassy Suites. Throughout his career, he has opened and operated high performing properties across the Southeast, earning multiple industry accolades, and leading  several hotels to rank in the top 10% nationally for guest service.

Known for his ability to execute operational excellence, Williams most recently served as Director  of Hotel Operations for Quality Oil Company, overseeing eight Hilton-branded hotels. Prior roles  include serving as the opening General Manager for both the Embassy Suites Greenville  Downtown and the Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Downtown, where he led pre-opening  strategy, staffing, sales efforts, and day-to-day operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Glen to Hotel Hartness,” said Sean Hartness, CEO of Hotel Hartness.  “His track record of opening and leading top-performing hotels, combined with his deep  commitment to service and community, makes him an exceptional fit for our property. Glen  understands the heart of what makes Hartness special.”

Williams will guide Hotel Hartness during a period of strong momentum as the property  continues expanding its reputation for refined Southern hospitality and elevated experiences.  Surrounded by the community’s 400-acre nature preserve, the hotel offers 73 thoughtfully  designed rooms and suites; Patterson Kitchen + Bar, known for innovative, globally inspired

cuisine; The Captain, an intimate speakeasy-style bar; Spa H, offering restorative treatments and  wellness services; and event spaces ideal for weddings, retreats, and corporate gatherings.

“Hotel Hartness is a remarkable property, one that blends luxury, nature, and true Southern  warmth unlike anywhere else in the region,” said Williams. “I’ve spent much of my career in  Greenville and care deeply about this community. I’m excited to work with this talented team to  create unforgettable guest experiences and continue shaping Hotel Hartness into one of the  Southeast’s premier destinations.”

In addition to his extensive hospitality leadership, Williams has long been active in community  organizations and service initiatives. He is a past Chairman of VisitGreenvilleSC, past President  of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (Greater Greenville Chapter) and previously served on the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
