Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers Grand Reopening in Downtown Clinton: A Celebration of Resilience and Community

July 16, 2025

A beloved fixture in downtown Clinton for more than five decades, Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers celebrated their return to 126 Musgrove Street on Wednesday with a joyful ribbon cutting and celebration that reflected not only the store’s history but the strength and spirit of the community it serves.

The event drew a crowd of well-wishers to the store, where members of the Clinton community gathered for the latest edition of The Brew Laurens County, which featured a special presentation by store owner Angie Hanvey McKittrick. McKittrick shared stories of the store’s founding in 1973 by her father, Hoyt Hanvey, and reflected on what the business has meant to generations of families in Clinton.

“This is more than just a jewelry store,” McKittrick told the crowd. “For 52 years, this has been a place where people come to mark life’s most special moments—engagements, anniversaries, new babies, and graduations. It’s been an honor to be a part of those celebrations, and it’s even more meaningful to see how this community has stood by us through the hardest of times.”

That support was especially evident following a devastating fire that forced the store to temporarily close its doors and then relocate down the street while their building was completely rebuilt. Wednesday’s grand reopening wasn’t just about cutting a ribbon—it was a moment to recognize the perseverance of a family business and the unwavering encouragement from loyal customers and neighbors.

“It’s hard to put into words what today means to us,” McKittrick said. “We’ve been through so much, but to see this store brighter and better than ever, and to share that with all of you—it’s overwhelming in the best possible way.”

With a fresh and fully renovated store and a renewed sense of purpose, Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers is ready to continue its tradition of offering fine jewelry, gifts, and expert service to Clinton and the surrounding area.

As McKittrick summed it up: “Our family is proud to be back in the building that has been home for Hanvey Jewelers for decades, and we’re ready for the next 50 years.”

Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers is open at 126 Musgrove Street in Clinton. You can follow them on Facebook for specials and upcoming events.
