HTC partnered with Georgetown County Parks & Recreation and Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department to give away 250 Christmas turkeys

HTC, in partnership with Georgetown County Parks & Recreation and Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department, recently held a Christmas Turkey Giveaway at 8 Oaks Park, where they distributed 250 turkeys (weighing over 3,200 pounds) and more than 2,600 pounds of produce to local families in need ahead of the holiday season.

The drive-thru event lasted about 75 minutes and allowed a safe and efficient distribution for participating residents. There was a limit of one turkey per vehicle, while supplies lasted. By hosting the event as a drive-thru and with the help of Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department, organizers aimed to create a smooth, safe and respectful experience for all participants.

This Christmas Turkey Giveaway reflects a shared commitment between HTC and Georgetown County Parks & Recreation to support local residents through accessible, community-focused initiatives.

HTC purchased the turkeys for the event and had employees on site volunteering alongside Georgetown County Parks & Recreation and Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department staff to assist with distribution.
