About Hubbell Lighting’s Internship Program – Hubbell Lighting has operated its current internship program for the past four years utilizing students from local colleges and universities, including Clemson at the Falls MBA program.
Candidates for the program are put through a rigorous interview process as if they were being hired for full time employment. Interns are given real work and operate within their teams like other employees. In addition to being monitored and mentored weekly by the human resources department, their direct managers are met with to discuss the interns’ progress and any issues that may exist.
At the end of the internship, interns are required to make a formal presentation to the executive team so that they can gain experience dealing with executive leadership. Several other companies in South Carolina are now modeling their internship program after Hubbell’s program.
