I Want to Make Your Blog Better.
September 11, 2015By Jillian Owens
I started a blog five years ago. I’d never blogged before, hadn’t written since college, and didn’t identify as being a writer. All I had was an idea I wanted to share to see if anyone else out there would like it. What I learned in the next five years changed my closet, my career, and my life.
Blogging saved me from a life spent feeling like a drone in Adminland. The capacity to blog is an amazing gift that we have at our disposal. As Seth Godin once said, “The Internet can save your life.”
Creating and sharing our own content has never been easier. Whether you write a personal blog about your own daily struggles, or you blog for a major corporation, your content can save you or your company…but only if it’s actually getting out there.
This is why I’m speaking next week at an event that’s being hosted by the Columbia Chapter of the AMA next Tuesday (September 15). I’m going to show you some awesome ways to attract a meaningfully engaged following for your blog. Any blog. Whether you’re blogging for business or pleasure, there’s something in this for you. And I promise to share some tips and tricks you haven’t heard before (because I created them…that’s why).
Even if you don’t have a blog yet, and are just curious what it’s all about, this is for you. I’ll also be available to answer any and all questions you may have about blogging, social media, life, the universe, and everything.
There will be sandwiches and booze.
There were even Oreos at the last one, so there might be some of those too.
You don’t have to be a member of AMA (or even know what it is) to attend. To get tickets for this event click here.
