IABC/SC announces 2016 board of directors
January 22, 2016Nine area communications professionals have been named to the 2016 board of directors for the South Carolina Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.
“We’re preparing for a banner year in 2016,” said Kevin Floyd, new IABC/SC president. “This year, we’re focusing squarely on member benefits, including new professional development that will benefit communicators across industry sectors in the Palmetto State.”
The following were elected:
- President – Kevin Floyd, communications manager, Nexsen Pruet, LLC
- President Elect – Alison Shuman, corporate communications coordinator, S.C. Farm Bureau
- Past-President – Patrick Cobb, director of communications, AARP
- Vice President of Communications – Dickson Monk, director of marketing and communications, Historic Columbia
- Secretary – Michelle Foster, director of communications, University of South Carolina
- Vice President of Finance – Jeanne Reynolds, director, corporate communications & media relations, Colonial Life
- Vice President of Membership Development & Retention – Cynthia South, president, South Company
- Vice Presidents of Professional Development and Programs – Kimberly South, communications coordinator, Palmetto Health and Eric Boomhower, director of public affairs, SCANA Corp.
Tom Klipstine, professor, University of South Carolina, will continue to serve as the IABC/SC student chapter liaison. Karla Falk will continue her role as the IABC/SC chapter administrator.
