IDG's Computerworld Names Palmetto Health to 2013 List of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology

COLUMBIA, SC – June 18, 2013 – IDG’s Computerworld announces Palmetto Health as a 2013 Best Places to Work in IT, one of 100 top organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits, career opportunities and an enjoyable work environment. Organizations will be included in coverage in Computerworld along with results from the 20th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey. Palmetto Health ranked 46th among the top 100 in nation and ninth in the South Atlantic region. Palmetto Health is the only organization recognized in South Carolina.
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Michelle Edwards is honored that Palmetto Health is listed once again, especially since her team is extremely busy. Our team is involved in so many important system-wide initiatives, including implementing the electronic health record in our physician practices, meeting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Meaningful Use requirements for electronic health records for our hospitals and eligible providers, implementing ICD-10 coding of medical diagnoses and inpatient hospital procedures, designing the IT systems for the new Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital, enhancing the revenue cycle, creating a strategy for data analytics, and supporting critical patient safety and clinical quality initiatives. With so many priorities, it’s important for us to remain focused on the value IT brings to our organization, our care providers, and, ultimately, our patients.
