Immedion Columbia Successfully Completes SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 Audit

COLUMBIA, SC – January 9, 2012 – Immedion, LLC, South Carolina’sfirst dedicated data center and managed services provider, announcestheir Columbia facility has successfully completed its SSAE 16 SOC 1Type 2 Audit (formerly referred to as SAS 70 Type II) certificationaudit. This third-party certification by the American Institute ofCertified Public Accountants (AICPA) demonstrates Immedion’s commitmentto security and industry standards. With this certification, clients getgreater assurance Immedion’s policies and processes associated withphysical security, logical security and change control are on par withthe best in the industry.
SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 is the authoritative guidance that allowsservice organizations to disclose their control activities and processesto their customers and their customers’ auditors in a uniform reportingformat. The SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 audit included comprehensive reviewsand tests of Immedion’s infrastructure, including power, physical andelectronic security measures, backup and recovery procedures, customersetup, network security, maintenance procedures, infrastructure changemanagement, environmental safeguards, communications, customer service,management and user controls and insurance coverage.
