ConvergeSE, Columbia, S.C.’s next-generation web design and marketing conference, is partnering with Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN) to present the afternoon-long 36|86 Southern Series entrepreneurship event on April 15. The evening concert booking is provided by 36|86’s entertainment partner, AC Entertainment, the co-founders and co-producers of Bonnaroo.

“One of the coolest new aspects of this year’s ConvergeSE conference is that we’re bringing new, never-before-seen things to the Midlands, like the 36|86 startup party, with bands booked by the same company that produces Bonnaroo,” says ConvergeSE founder Gene Crawford. “It’s an afternoon of panels and speakers, and then ten startups will pitch their business idea to investors, like the show Shark Tank.”

The 36|86 Southern Series startup pitch contest on April 15 at Music Farm will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. featuring food and cash bar. The event will transform into an indie rock show at 7:30pm when doors open for an 8 p.m. live concert by The Weeks with Charleston, S.C.-based opener Brave Baby.

Named New Music Express’ Radar Band of the Week and noted as “older and wiser…soulful country-rockers” by Rolling Stone, The Weeks will stop into Columbia before playing the Visulite Theatre in Charlotte, N.C., and the NorVa in Norfolk, VA.

Tickets to the 36|86 Southern Series concert with The Weeks and Brave Baby are $10. Admission is free to the 2 p.m.-6:30 p.m. startup pitch contest and panel, but guests are asked to please pre-register. Buy tickets and/or pre-register here: http://bit.ly/1HtIcob. The concert is free for ConvergeSE conference badgeholders.

In its seventh year, ConvergeSE will bring together attendees from across the globe for keynote talks by big-name speakers from Adobe, Paypal, RetailMeNot, The Iron Yard and cult film “Sharknado” from Wednesday to Saturday, April 15-18, 2015 in the historic downtown Congaree Vista district of Columbia, S.C.

Tickets to ConvergeSE are $475 per person for the entire conference and $150 for a single day ticket. A “locals only” conference ticket discount of 20% is available for Midlands residents who use the code, “lovelocalscola” here: https://account.unmatchedstyle.com/register/convergese2015.
