Innovative marketing – What do your Ideal Prospects’ believe?
May 25, 2014By Jerry Bellune
Liberals like the moral ambiguity of Mad Men.
Greed and lust are amply rewarded.
Conservatives like the underdog values of TURИ.
American patriots risk their lives against the British.
Think who watches Chris Matthews on MSNBC
Chris is a combative left wing attack dog.
Think who watches Bill O’Reilly on Fox.
Bill is a combative right wing attack dog.
Both have politically-opposed fans.
Will this help us market to our Ideal Prospects?
Roy Williams, the Wizard of Ads, advises us to:
• Quit trying to change our customers’ minds.
• Agree with them and tell them they’re right.
• Confirm their suspicions about your competitors.
• Demonize the enemies you share in common.
• Let them see themselves when they look at you.
This works in politics. Why not your ads?
Use these five strategies to be more successful.
Williams offers a not-so-subtle warning:
You’ll fail if you misrepresent your own values.
Don’t agree with beliefs you don’t respect.
Speak out against injustice when you see it.
Don’t knuckle under to political correctness.
Show charity, compassion and courage
Don’t be fooled by selfish interests and expediency.
Be able to look at yourself in the mirror.
We face what may seem like conflicting values.
• Providing for others’ wants and needs.
• Being true to our sense of values and purpose.
It isn’t easy to balance between our heads and hearts.
It is a true test of our character.
Please let me know if you disagree.
I’m open to ideas and can always learn from you.
A reminder
Associate with those who share your values.
You can do that in our VIP Club Master Mind.
It’s for business owners, partners and entrepreneurs.
It’s at 9:45 a.m. Friday, June 13 at Cafe Strudel.
