InnoVision Announces Call For Entries

The InnoVision Technology Awards have become the mark ofdistinction for outstanding leadership, innovation and technologicalexcellence in the Upstate and Midlands communities.

GREENVILLE, SC – May 21, 2012 – InnoVision Board Chairman, Douglas Kim,announces the Call for Entries for the InnoVision 2012 TechnologyAwards.  InnoVision is the premier organization that honors theworld-class achievements of businesses, educational institutions andgovernmental entities in South Carolina’s Upstate and Greater Midlandsregions.  Celebrating over 14 years of serving the community, theInnoVision program supports innovation through two activities; theannual InnoVision Awards ceremony and educational InnoVision Forums thatare held throughout the year.

InnoVision’s goals include honoring and highlighting South Carolinaorganizations and individuals that develop or apply technologicalinnovation, advancing technical collaboration and innovation amongorganizations and individuals, and honoring and encouraging participantsand programs that engage youth in the areas of science, math, andtechnological innovation.

There are eight (8) award categories.  2011 Award winners were:
       

• Sustainability – Montana Biopolymers, Inc.
• Technology Application – CQ Media Networks
• Technology Development – SensorTech Corp.  and Techtronic Industries North America, Inc.
• Innovation in Education – Clemson University, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
• Small Enterprise – CareCam Innovations
• Hall of Fame Community Service – Not recognized in 2011
• Dr. Charles Townes Individual Achievement – Roger Milliken
• Young Innovator – Pickens County Career & Technology Center, Mechatronics Team
